Dr. Sheila Apicella is a board-certified Otolaryngologist-Head and Neck Surgeon. She focuses on the management of sinus disease, minimally invasive endoscopic sinus surgery, balloon sinuplasty, general ENT, voice and swallowing disorders, ear disorders, sleep-disordered breathing, and pediatric otolaryngology at the New York Otolaryngology Group-Northwell Physician Partners with two locations in NYC.
She received her undergraduate degree at Barnard College in New York City. She then earned her medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine. After a pre-residency fellowship in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital in New York, Dr. Apicella continued her post-graduate training at SUNY-Stony Brook. She completed her residency at the University of Pittsburgh Eye and Ear Institute.
Dr. Sheila Apicella is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgery. She is an Attending physician at Manhattan Eye and Ear Infirmary and Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Apicella has an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
Dr. Apicella is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, The Medical Society of the State of New York, and the New York County Medical Society. She has been recognized by Castle Connelly Guide as a Top Doctor in the New York Metro Area for many years, including 2016-2022.
